Highly Centralized Prescription Processing
Prescription processing is highly centralized. It is designed primarily around the prescription fill screen. Functions such as filling prescriptions, adding patients and doctors, transmitting online claims, performing proactive DUR analysis, maintaining SIGs, and printing patient education leaflets can all be done while filling a prescription. This centralized design greatly improves the user's productivity by providing direct access to the majority of the tasks associated with prescription processing from a single location. The remaining tasks such as database maintenance, billing, system administration, reports, accounts receivable, nursing home support, are all organized within the system.

Order Entry and Processing
Meet the needs of your high-volume retail or long-term care pharmacy with the comprehensive tools included in our system. Prescription are scanned and entered into the orders entry queue, where they are later retrieved at the dispensing station.

Workflow
Improve patient safety and pharmacy resource utilization. Eliminate dispensing errors by verifying prescriptions during the filling process to assure that the drug product identified on the label is the drug product that is being dispensed. The dispensing process includes order entry, pharmacist verification, labeling/ packaging, quality assurance with NDC bar code verification and drug images, and delivery with bar code tote checking. Orders that require additional attention can be pushed to the error resolution queue to avoid delay.

Queue
The system maintains Workflow queues on Orders, holds, physician action, DUR, rejects and verification.

Document Imaging
Transition to a paperless environment. Scan, store, and retrieve any type of document (including: CMN, prescription, insurance card, physician documentation, worker comp, etc ..) to eliminate the need for manual filing. The prescription, insurance card and signature is scanned and attached to the patient record. When patient information is retrieved, the images will automatically appear as verification of the patient’s prescription. In addition to helping to prevent dispensing errors, the module can help dramatically reduce the time and expense of an audit.

Pill Database
With thousands of drugs in drugs in different shapes, sizes and colors on hand in a pharmacy, the pill database is of tremendous value. It retrieves an image of the prescribed pill with the prescription image, aiding in verification.

Inventory Control
Perpetual inventory control system monitors and updates your inventory in real-time; with historical inventory adjustments, internal receiving, wireless scanning, reporting and security. Use the Inventory Collector to perform physical inventory of the drug products in your pharmacy formulary by scanning the barcode of the package on the shelf.

Patient Counseling (OBRA)
The system provides patient counseling support in the form of patient education leaflets. In addition to a full complement of drug utilization review (DUR) checks, like Drug Allergy, Drug-Drug Interaction, Drug Contraindication, Side Effects, Duplicate Therapy, Dosage Range, Duration of Therapy, Pediatric Contraindication, Geriatric Contraindication, Pregnancy Contraindication and Lactation Contraindication.

Electronic claim reconciliation
Reconcile third party payments fast, electronically or manually. Claims reconciliation allows you to easily post claims processor remittance data to the system. Claims billed both online and offline are posted to the tracking system. The tracking system provides you with a highly functional maintenance interface. Using the interface, you are able to filter the billed claims by specific date ranges for both individual plans and all plans. Sort the claims by billed or fill date. Search for individual records by prescription number. In addition to these filtering capabilities, the tracking system interface also provides on-screen editing of claim entries, reporting, and reject re-billing.

Interactive Voice Response
Save time and increase efficiency with an IVR solution. IVR increases pharmacy workflow and productivity by helping you manage phoned-in refills, simplifying time-consuming physician communications and providing your pharmacy patients with 24/7 access. Routes prescription refill requests to the pharmacy software queue for processing and reduces the amount of phone interruptions.

Compounding
Fill your compounded prescriptions and track what was prescribed and dispensed. You can track the specific batch (lot number) dispensed to each patient or place Rx’s on hold, generate a partial fill, transfers, Rx notes, controlled substance reporting, price quotes and refill reminders. Add your own formulas or copy from other formulas already on file. Each formula may have an unlimited number of chemicals and instructions. The system automatically calculates the cost of each ingredient as they are entered.

Delivery
System tracks multiple deliveries assigned to a delivery person by delivery ticket or prescription; it will print delivery list with directions, capture electronic signature, scan deliveries in/out or other status.

Electronic Signature Capture
An electronic signature capture and storage device that provides a paper-free solution to document pick-up logs and HIPAA privacy acknowledgements, Safety cap waiver; work more efficiently and expedite audits.

Nursing Home
The Nursing Home Module provides the forms, reports and functionality necessary for any institutional pharmacy whether long-term care, mental health, assisted living, board-and-care or corrections. to help institutional pharmacies increase productivity, efficiency and profitability while supporting the unique needs of long-term care environments. The module includes support for various forms such as MAR, Physician Orders, treatment sheets and psychotropic monitoring sheets.

Nursing Home Consulting Option
The Nursing Home Consulting System is designed to allow the consultant pharmacist to perform onsite patient drug regimen reviews and physical reviews (facility inspection) of nursing homes on a periodic basis using a laptop or portable computer system. Nursing home patient information and medication/treatment orders are extracted from a standard Abacus Pharmacy System and loaded into a laptop or portable computer system allowing the consultant pharmacist to have complete and up-to-date information while conducting an on-site nursing home review.

Cycle filling
Our Cycle Fill and Mass Fill functions automatic refill and provides the ability to send multiple claims for multiple patients to multiple carriers for routine medications. These functions save you time and money by allowing you to refill like the real world. You can refill in batch or by MAR. MAR gives you the flexibility of not only refilling routine medications like other less capable systems, but allowing you the flexibility to select non routine medications, to discontinue medications or fill new medications from the MAR Sheet, once you are satisfy with all the changes, the system will automatically refill, transmit, print the prescriptions, MAR Sheet and Delivery Sheet for all selected medications.

Prescriber-Pharmacist Interface (ePrescribe)
Prescriber-Pharmacist Interface enables pharmacists to accept new prescriptions and send and receive renewal requests, prior authorization and refill authorizations electronically.

IV processing
This module creates and maintains an on-line database for a variety of I.V. solutions for home infusion centers, clinics and physicians’ offices. Orders may be categorized as piggy-back, syringe, LVP, TPN, epidural, chemotherapy and chemo syringe. Admixed and non-admixed solutions are supported.

High Volume Pharmacy Management
